Developing Leaders of Character

The United States Military Academy (USMA), founded on March 16, 1802, is a four-year college that builds, educates, trains, and inspires the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army values and ready for a lifetime of service to the Army and nation. West Point graduates earn Bachelor of Science degrees and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army.

History of West Point

West Point is an integral part of American history and is steeped in tradition. Every college has its own culture and traditions, but with more than 200 years of American and military history and West Point's time-honored traditions, the U.S. Military Academy is unlike any other college.

Modernization Program

The United States Military Academy is undergoing a holistic 15-20 year modernization effort, known as “USMA 2035”, to renovate, retrofit, and modernize its academic, military, and physical development facilities, capabilities, and infrastructure.

Accreditation & Assessment

The United States Military Academy at West Point is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Several USMA programs are also ABET accredited.
