CPT(P) Kelsey Jang is an instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
A native of Seattle, Washington, Jang graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2015 with a bachelor of science in civil engineering and commissioned as an engineer officer.
Jang's previous assignments include service as a sapper platoon leader with the 541st Sapper Company, 19th Engineer Battalion at Fort Knox, Kentucky; operations officer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, supporting emergency operations and hurricane response efforts; project manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Tel Aviv, Israel; Battalion S4, 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power); and company commander, Bravo Company, 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power), commanding in the Army's only Prime Power unit in support of combatant commanders, joint task forces, and FEMA disaster response operations worldwide.
She holds a master's degree in engineering management from the University of Louisville and a master's degree in psychology with a concentration in human factors from North Carolina State University. Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal (with three Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Achievement Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters); National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; and the Overseas Service Ribbon. She has also earned the Sapper Tab and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold). Jang is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Jang lives at West Point with her wife, Katey, and their dog, Bennie. Outside the classroom, she enjoys CrossFit, traveling, and cheering on Seattle and Army sports.
