CPT Micah Gahagen is an instructor of international affairs in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy. His research interests include economic statecraft, the use of private military forces, and external state intervention.
In 2017, CPT Gahagen commissioned as a military intelligence officer from USMA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, comparative politics. He also holds a master’s degree in public policy from the Josef Korbel School at the University of Denver.
Micah has served in the 10th Mountain Division, the 165th Infantry Brigade, and the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade. He has deployed in support of Kosovo Forces, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, and Operation European Assure Deter and Reinforce. CPT Gahagen’s most recent operational assignments were as a detachment commander and battalion executive officer.
