CPT Ryaan Villagomez enlisted in the United States Army in 2005 as an infantry Soldier, serving at Fort Lewis, Vilseck, Fort Benning, and in Alaska. He later commissioned as a field artillery officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at Cameron University in Oklahoma in 2019.

As a field artillery officer, CPT Villagomez has served in a variety of assignments, including fire support officer for Charlie Troop 5-73 Cavalry Regiment and executive officer for Bravo Battery, 3-319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He has commanded at the company level, serving as commander of Bravo Battery, 1-78th Field Artillery, and of Bravo Battery, 1-30th Field Artillery, Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC).

CPT Villagomez has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 07-09 with the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) 11-12 with the 1st Infantry Division's 25th Infantry Regiment.

Captain Villagomez holds a bachelor of science in sport and exercise science from Cameron University and a master of science in kinesiology from Texas A&M University.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. He has earned the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Expert Infantryman's Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, and Military Mountaineering Badge.

CPT Villagomez is married to Christine, a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Together they have three children: Maximus, Siddartha, and Rylyn.
